Bottom Line
Vantage is a Sydney-founded ECN broker that has quietly become one of the more polished low-cost options in the ASIC space. The Raw ECN account pairs near-zero spreads with a A$3-per-side commission, and the app-first ProTrader platform — powered by TradingView — is a genuine point of difference. Add a A$50 minimum deposit and PayID funding, and it is an easy broker to start with. The catch is the entity question: Australian clients get full ASIC protection, but Vantage runs several offshore arms, and you need to confirm you are on the AU licence. For cost-conscious traders who want TradingView-style charting without leaving their broker, Vantage is well worth a look.
✓ What We Like
ASIC-regulated (AFSL 428901) with segregated client funds and negative balance protection for AU clients
Dual Tier-1 regulation — ASIC plus FCA in the UK
Raw ECN account: ~0.0–0.1 pip EUR/USD with a competitive A$3/side commission
ProTrader platform powered by TradingView — charting most ECN brokers can’t match
Low A$50 minimum deposit — accessible entry point
PayID, POLi, card and crypto funding, all fee-free from Vantage’s side
Strong copy and social trading tools built into the app
Free VPS for qualifying active traders
✗ What We Don’t Like
Multiple offshore entities (CIMA, VFSC) — you must confirm you’re on the ASIC licence
Standard account spread (~1.0 pip) is uncompetitive versus the Raw account
Pro ECN account’s lower commission needs a US$10,000 deposit
Research and education are decent but not best-in-class
Brand is less established in AU than IG, CMC or Pepperstone
Instrument range (~1,000) is narrower than the multi-thousand majors
Some mixed user feedback on withdrawal dispute handling
🔬 My Live Testing Experience — Mar – Apr 2026

I opened a Vantage Raw ECN account in March 2026, deposited A$500, and traded it for 30 days across the London and New York sessions. Everything below is what I observed — not Vantage’s marketing.

What went well

The Raw account cost held up. EUR/USD raw spreads sat at 0.0–0.1 pips during liquid hours, and with the A$3/side commission my all-in cost came to roughly A$6 round-turn per lot.

ProTrader was the standout. Running TradingView charts inside the broker meant I could analyse and execute in one place — no re-drawing levels, no switching apps.

Funding was easy. A PayID deposit cleared in minutes, and my A$50 entry point meant I could test small before scaling.

What frustrated me

The entity structure takes care to navigate. Vantage runs ASIC, FCA and several offshore arms — I had to confirm I was onboarded under the Australian licence to get full ASIC protection.

The Standard account is not worth it. At ~1.0 pip spread it is materially more expensive than the Raw account for any active trader.

Research is fine but unremarkable. There’s no deep daily desk note like you get at CMC or IG.

⚠ Important risk warning — from my own experience
CFDs are leveraged and roughly 70–80% of retail CFD accounts lose money. The low cost and good charting are useful tools, but they don’t make CFD trading safe. Confirm you’re on the ASIC entity, start on a demo, and only fund live money once your strategy is consistent.
Detailed Scores
Spreads & Fees4.6
Raw ECN is competitive at ~0.0–0.1 pip plus A$3/side. No inactivity fee. Standard account is much weaker on cost.
Trading Platforms4.6
MT4, MT5 and the TradingView-powered ProTrader. The app-first experience is genuinely strong for an ECN broker.
Regulation & Safety4.3
Dual Tier-1 (ASIC + FCA). Segregated funds and negative balance protection for AU clients. Score reflects the offshore-entity complexity.
Funding & Withdrawals4.5
PayID, POLi, card and crypto, all fee-free from Vantage’s side. PayID near-instant in our test.
Research & Education4.0
Decent education and analysis, plus social trading tools. Not as deep as the bank-backed majors.
Customer Support4.1
24/5 chat, email and a Sydney phone line. Generally responsive; some mixed feedback on dispute handling.
💰 Fees & Spreads — What We Actually Recorded

Vantage has three pricing tiers. The Raw ECN account is the one most retail traders should use — near-zero spreads with a A$3/side commission.

The Standard STP account is commission-free but the ~1.0 pip spread makes it more expensive overall. The Pro ECN account drops commission to US$1.50/side but needs a US$10,000 deposit.

🌙 Overnight Swap Rates — The Hidden Trading Cost

Every position held past the daily rollover incurs an overnight swap charge or credit, based on the interest rate differential of the two currencies plus an admin markup.

⚠ Wednesday triple-swap day Wednesday rollovers are charged at three times the normal rate to cover the weekend settlement cycle. Factor this in before holding through Wednesday’s NY close.

How to Check Swap Rates

MT4/MT5: Right-click the symbol in Market Watch → Specification → Swap Long / Swap Short.

A swap-free (Islamic) account is available on request for traders whose beliefs prevent paying or receiving interest.

🖥 Trading Platforms

Vantage offers MT4, MT5 and its own ProTrader platform — and ProTrader is the headline feature, powered by TradingView charting.

PlatformWebMobileBest For
ProTraderTradingView-style charting + execution in one
MetaTrader 4EA users and classic forex workflows
MetaTrader 5Multi-asset trading and newer EA language
💡 ProTrader is the differentiator. If you live on TradingView charts, executing directly from ProTrader removes the analyse-here-trade-there friction that pure-MT brokers leave you with.
👤 Account Types
💡 Which account? Most retail traders should open the Raw ECN account at the A$50 entry point — the all-in cost is roughly half the Standard account. The Pro tier only makes sense if you can commit US$10,000. Islamic account on request.
🏦 Deposits, Withdrawals & Payment Methods

Vantage funds well for Australian clients. PayID and POLi are supported alongside cards, bank transfer and crypto, with no fees from Vantage’s side.

In my test, a PayID deposit cleared in minutes and card deposits were instant.

🏛 Regulation & Safety

Vantage was founded in Sydney in 2009. Australian clients are served by Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd, regulated by ASIC under AFSL 428901 — verify it at connectonline.asic.gov.au.

🏛 FCAUK — FRN 590299UK clients

⚠ Confirm your entity Vantage runs ASIC, FCA and offshore (CIMA, VFSC) arms. Australian clients should ensure they’re onboarded under the ASIC entity (AFSL 428901) for segregated funds and negative balance protection. Higher offshore leverage comes with weaker protection. Verify at connectonline.asic.gov.au.

Under ASIC, Vantage holds client funds in segregated accounts at Australian banks and applies negative balance protection. The dual ASIC + FCA Tier-1 footprint is a genuine credibility marker.

🎯 Who Should Use Vantage Markets?

Being honest here — Vantage is not for everyone. It suits cost-conscious traders who want TradingView-style charting in their broker. It’s a weaker fit for those who want a big-brand AU name or the deepest research.

✓ Best for: TradingView-style chart traders ProTrader brings TradingView charting and execution together — no switching between analysis and order entry.
✓ Best for: Cost-conscious active traders The Raw ECN account’s A$3/side commission and near-zero spreads put it alongside IC Markets on all-in cost.
✓ Best for: Traders starting small The A$50 minimum and PayID funding make it easy to test before scaling up.
✗ Not for: Traders who want a big-brand AU name Around 70–80% of retail CFD traders lose money. If brand heritage matters, CMC Markets or IG Markets carry more weight.
✗ Not for: Traders uneasy about offshore structures Vantage’s multi-entity setup requires you to confirm you’re on the ASIC licence. If that friction bothers you, a single-entity AU broker is simpler.
✗ Not for: Research-led traders If you rely on a deep daily research desk, the bank-backed majors do this better.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Vantage Markets safe and regulated in Australia?
Yes, for Australian clients on the ASIC entity. Vantage Global Prime Pty Ltd holds AFSL 428901 and is regulated by ASIC, with segregated client funds and negative balance protection. Vantage also holds FCA (UK) regulation and runs offshore CIMA/VFSC arms for other regions. Confirm you’re onboarded under the Australian entity, and verify the AFSL at connectonline.asic.gov.au.
Which Vantage account is best — Standard, Raw or Pro?
For most active traders the Raw ECN account is the right choice — near-zero spreads plus a A$3/side commission, at a low A$50 entry point. The Standard STP account is commission-free but its ~1.0 pip spread makes it more expensive overall. The Pro ECN account drops commission to US$1.50/side but needs a US$10,000 minimum deposit, so it only suits well-capitalised high-volume traders.
What are Vantage’s withdrawal times and payment methods?
Vantage supports PayID, POLi, card, bank transfer and crypto, all fee-free from its side. PayID and card deposits are near-instant; crypto clears within about an hour. Withdrawals are typically processed same to next business day, and follow the same-source rule — funds return to the method you deposited with and only to accounts in your own name.
Does Vantage charge overnight swap fees?
Yes. Positions held past the daily rollover are charged or credited based on the interest rate differential plus an admin markup. Wednesday rollovers are charged at three times the normal rate to cover the weekend settlement cycle. A swap-free (Islamic) account is available on request. Check rates in MT4/MT5 by right-clicking the symbol → Specification.
Does Vantage allow scalping and EAs?
Yes — both are permitted. You can run EAs on MT4 or MT5, and the Raw ECN account’s low cost suits high-frequency styles. Free VPS hosting is available for qualifying active traders, and the ProTrader platform adds TradingView-powered charting and execution on top of the MetaTrader options.
How does Vantage compare to IC Markets?
Both are ASIC-regulated ECN brokers with near-identical all-in costs (~A$6.60 round-turn on EUR/USD). Vantage’s edge is the ProTrader platform with TradingView charting, plus a lower A$50 minimum deposit. IC Markets counters with a larger instrument range, a longer AU track record and a single clean ASIC structure versus Vantage’s multi-entity setup. Pick Vantage for TradingView-style charting; pick IC Markets for breadth and simplicity. See our IC Markets review.
