Our Mission

KolaTrading exists to give Australian traders access to the same quality of independent broker research that institutional traders take for granted — tested with real accounts, written without broker influence, and updated when things change.

We started KolaTrading after experiencing firsthand how difficult it is to find genuinely independent broker information in Australia. Most broker review sites are built backwards — the broker pays first, and the review follows. We built KolaTrading the other way: we test first, and we only list brokers we would actually recommend to someone we know.

Our focus is exclusively on Australian traders and the specific regulatory environment they operate in. Every broker we review must hold a valid ASIC Australian Financial Services Licence. We do not review or list offshore brokers operating without ASIC oversight, regardless of how competitive their pricing might be.

Our Team

KolaTrading is run by a small team of traders, analysts and financial writers based in Australia. We have combined experience across retail forex trading, financial journalism and regulatory compliance.

Our testing team opens and funds live accounts, measures spreads and executes real trades at every broker we review. All testing is conducted independently of any commercial relationship with the brokers reviewed.

Content & Compliance Review
Our editorial team reviews all content for accuracy, regulatory compliance and factual integrity before publication. Content is updated when broker fees, platforms or ASIC regulations change.

Our Principles

  • ASIC only: We only review and list brokers holding a valid ASIC Australian Financial Services Licence. Regulation is a non-negotiable starting point, not a checkbox.
  • Real account testing: Every review is based on a funded live account. We do not review brokers based on their marketing materials or self-reported data alone.
  • Transparent affiliate relationships: We earn commissions when readers open accounts via our links. We disclose this clearly on every page. A commercial relationship does not influence our scores — brokers cannot buy a higher rating or suppress a negative finding.
  • Transparent about negatives: If we find a significant weakness — poor support, a regulatory issue, a fee change — we include it regardless of commercial relationship. See our IG Markets review for an example of this approach.
  • Regular updates: Financial conditions change. We update reviews when fees change, platforms are added, or regulatory matters emerge. Every review shows its last-updated date.

We are not financial advisers. Nothing on KolaTrading constitutes personal financial advice. Our reviews and comparisons are general information designed to help you research broker options — not a recommendation to trade or invest. Always consider your personal financial situation and consult a licensed financial adviser before making investment decisions.

We are also not affiliated with ASIC, the ASX, or any government body. We are an independent media publication that covers the Australian broker and trading industry.
