📋 KolaTrading Verdict — May 2026
Bottom Line
ThinkMarkets is a Melbourne-founded broker whose calling card is its own ThinkTrader platform — an award-winning, genuinely well-built app with TradingView charts and a backtesting “Trader’s Gym”. On the ThinkZero account you get raw spreads from 0.0 pips with a A$3.50/side commission, which is mid-pack rather than market-leading. The Standard account has no minimum deposit, making it an easy starting point, but its spread-only pricing is on the wide side. ThinkMarkets suits traders who value a polished proprietary platform and a broad 4,000+ instrument range over the absolute lowest commission. Scalpers chasing the cheapest possible cost will find tighter deals elsewhere.

🔬 My Live Testing Experience — Mar – Apr 2026
I opened a ThinkMarkets ThinkZero account in March 2026, deposited A$500, and traded it for 30 days across the London and New York sessions. Everything below is what I observed.
What went well
ThinkTrader genuinely impressed me. The charting is clean, the TradingView integration is real rather than bolted-on, and the Trader’s Gym let me backtest a setup without leaving the app.
ThinkZero spreads were tight. EUR/USD sat around 0.1 pips during liquid hours, sometimes touching 0.0 during the London/NY overlap.
The instrument range is genuinely broad — over 4,000 markets, including a solid share and crypto CFD line-up on MT5.
What frustrated me
The A$3.50/side commission is fine but not class-leading. Fusion Markets and others undercut it, so the all-in cost is mid-pack rather than cheapest.
The ThinkZero account needs A$500 to open, so the no-minimum Standard account is the only true zero-entry option — and its ~1.1 pip spread is not cheap.
There’s no cTrader. If that’s your platform of choice, ThinkMarkets won’t fit.
⚠ Important risk warning — from my own experience
CFDs are leveraged and roughly 70–80% of retail CFD accounts lose money. A polished platform makes trading easier to do — not easier to win at. Start on the free demo, learn ThinkTrader properly, and only fund live money once your strategy is consistent.

Positions held past the daily rollover incur an overnight swap charge or credit, based on the interest rate differential of the two currencies plus an admin markup.
⚠ Wednesday triple-swap day Wednesday rollovers are charged at three times the normal rate to cover the weekend settlement cycle. Factor this in before holding through Wednesday’s NY close.
