Sarah Thornton is a Melbourne-based investment analyst with 9 years of experience covering Australian equities, ETFs and share trading platforms. She previously worked as a research associate at a Melbourne-based wealth management firm, where she covered ASX small and mid-cap equities, before moving into independent financial analysis and investor education in 2020.
At KolaTrading, Sarah leads all share trading platform reviews, ETF comparisons and long-term investing content. Her work focuses on what matters most to everyday Australian investors: brokerage fees, CHESS sponsorship, dividend income, franking credits and the CGT implications of different investment strategies.
Sarah is a strong advocate for low-cost, evidence-based investing. She has personally tested over 15 Australian share trading platforms — including Stake, CommSec, Superhero and IG Share Trading — evaluating them on brokerage cost, CHESS registration, US share access and platform reliability.
She holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Melbourne and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance from Kaplan Professional. She is currently building a long-term ASX ETF portfolio and writes about her own investing journey alongside platform reviews.
